A little about us

Community is at the heart of all worship. St. Andrew's is a community of people who eat together, drink together, party together, pray together, sing together, learn together.  We are a small community which means that no one is left outside the circle. All are welcome, all are supported and loved.

We are a church moving forward in today's world and our services reflect that movement. We realize that though Marianna is a rural area, we are part of a global and technological world.  We embrace the opportunities that this globalization and technology offers us. Our priest, Renee Miller, lives in California but serves us each month 'in person' and remotely from California. We have face-to-face worship, and we have "CloudPriest" live-streaming eServices that utilize the best of video streaming technology. As part of the full spectrum of worship opportunities, we also have services that are planned and led by trained lay leaders of the community, and we encourage all to actively participate in our worship.

MUSIC

We recognize that music is an integral part of a meaningful worship experience. We have a state-of-the-art sound system that allows us to have the best music from all genres available to us. Geoff Ward, Organist and Choirmaster of All Saints Chapel at the University of Sewanee in Sewanee, TN records hymns that are used for our Sunday services. From time to time, Philip Joyner, Jr. a jazz musician from Memphis, TN accompanies us in worship and entertains us afterward!

EDUCATION

We follow the various seasons of the Church Calendar with our Adult Education offerings. Some are conducted with our priest when she is in Marianna, or through video streaming with her when she is in California.

We believe that church is more than a Sunday morning event. It is how the community relates and lives their lives together in the physical space of the church and out of it.  So, one important thing to know about St. Andrew's is that we are avid Razorback fans!
